Announcement: Great Manchester Cycle announces £10 offer to entrants..... |
Great Manchester Cycle announces £10 offer to entrants with the Daily Mirror. The organisers of the Daily Mirror Great Manchester Cycle, the new urban mass participation bike ride, are pleased to announce a new pricing offer to celebrate their partnership with the Daily Mirror.
Entrants in each of the 13 mile, 26 mile and 52 mile categories will be able to enter for just £10, instead of the usual £28. Kids entries are just £5, while children between 3-7 can ride for free.
The £10 fee celebrates 10 years of the Bupa Great Manchester Run, also organised by Nova International; the Daily Mirror Great Manchester Cycle is the latest in the series of “Great” city challenges, from the UK’s leading mass participation sporting events company.
The multi-distance Great Manchester Cycle event on 4th June 2012 will be the first mass participation urban bike ride taking place on completely closed roads in an otherwise bustling city centre, including a stretch of Manchester’s busiest motorway – the iconic Mancunian way.
The event has three distance options, setting off in waves from 08:00 - giving you the option to Get Out and Pedal over 13 miles, Rule the Roads over 26 miles or Test Yourself over 52 miles.
Starting and finishing at Eastlands, the home of Manchester City FC, the course takes in the districts of Manchester, Trafford and Salford, allowing cyclists the chance to see their city from a new perspective as they ride along roads normally strictly off limits to cyclists.
Olympic Gold Medallist, Rebecca Romero said: “The Great Manchester Cycle is going to be a fantastic day out and a very different experience to anything riders will have experienced before.”
She continued: “Riding on closed roads through the heart of Manchester for just £10 will be an incredible thing to do and hopefully families and keen cyclists alike will turn out for a day they won’t forget.”
As always with a "Great" event, you can have an exciting and safe time, whatever your ability, in the knowledge there is a full support service on course, entertainment and chip timing to give you a result for your efforts.
