Generally they will mend on there own after around 6 weeks providing you have rested etc etc..However my experience of bad breaks (like erect boys here) is that it will look pretty ugly when healed or even out of place. Im sure the *CENSORED* will advise but whatever you do rush to get back on the bike until your ready...unless your a pro that is... Wink

I waited 10 weeks before the decision was made to plate it but i have a very straight clavicle now although screwsand stuff make it a bit lumpy...Mines staying now as the bone has grown over it...

A friend of mine crashed recently and broke his collar bone, he's been advised to leave the shoulder strapped up to heal, no surgery however he's concerned that route will take 6-8 weeks, the alternative is to get it plated which will see him back on the bike inside 4 weeks however the surgeon who assessed him is against this???
Anyone out there with experience able to offer advice? Here's his x-ray..

Looking at that xray I'd say the decapitation was perhaps the more troublesome injury.. did the doctors pick up on it Shocked
Good Luck
