Ten Battlegrounds Unveiled for the Halfords Tour Series, Event Series takes in four new venues and revisits six .SweetSpot, organisers of The Halfords Tour Series have today announced the full list of venues that will host the exciting 2010 televised professional cycle racing series. An exciting variety of racing circuits await the ten teams chosen to do battle in this year’s Halfords Tour Series events, including new host venues Canary Wharf, Durham, Portsmouth and Kettering.

The full list of venues that will host the 2010 Halfords Tour Series are:

• Canary Wharf (25 May)
• Durham (27 May)
• Portsmouth (1 June)
• Exeter (3 June)
• Southport (8 June)
• Kettering (10 June)
• Peterborough (15 June)
• Stoke-on-Trent (17 June)
• Chester (21 June)
• Woking (24 June)

“It’s fantastic to see so many of our 2009 venues again choosing to host the Halfords Tour Series and with the addition of four new venues, including the showpiece curtain-raiser at Canary Wharf, the 2010 event promises to be even bigger and better than before,” said Mick Bennett, technical director for the Halfords Tour Series.

“With the best cycling teams the UK has seen in many years bringing cycle racing back to High Streets around the country, I cannot wait for the 2010 Series to begin!” Bennett concluded.

“This year’s Halfords Tour Series is going to be a spectacular one. With ten impressive venues and, this year’s televised Series will deliver some of the best racing seen yet on British soil,” said Rob Hayles, team captain for Endura Racing.

“I was fortunate enough to be part of the winning Halfords Bikehut team in the 2009 Series and I hope this year can be a repeat performance.” Hayles concluded.

Starting at 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with the exception of Chester which takes place on a Monday evening, The Halfords Tour Series will generate a carnival atmosphere at each of the ten chosen venues with a host of cycling based activities and exciting professional bike racing.

Following on from the success of the inaugural Tour Series in 2009, each round of The Halfords Tour Series will again be televised on ITV4 at 7pm the evening after each round, engaging audiences nationwide with Britain's best Olympic sport.
