Can anyone recommend a good way to remove all the sticky stuff left behind after removing handlebar tape, please?

I've got some old Cinelli's that have an excessive amount of goo that I'd like to remove.

Wrap kitchen roll around bars, soak in lighter fuel, strike match........?

Is this what you have in mind? Wink

wrap any new or clean bars in electrical tape before wrapping the bar tape on Wink

and you should be able to unwind / cut it off with a scalpel and leave clean bars when you come to change the tape. You can of course 'fully' wrap the cables on if you like, keeping them exactly where you want them before putting the tape on.
