Worth a thread I thought.

Impressive bit of riding, to be in contention, I thought. I reckon Greipel just had a bit more left, after a tough stage.

Greipel was pretty quick in Chatauroux (or however it's spelled) the other day. He started along way back and wasn't too far from Cavendish by the line.

No sign of Petacchi or Farrar. Omega could concentrate on looking after Greipel while Gilbert was attacking and HTC burned themselves up chasing. Very nicely timed sprint by Greipel.

He did not win but he appears to have moved up quite significantly in the green jersey competition. I thought it was becoming a lost cause but if he can do well again today with Gilbert missing out it blows it wide open. Hats off to Gilbert and Voeckler for giving it a go when both of them would technically have been far better off perhaps just coming in with the group.

Their attack did make it exciting for a while. Excellent work by Tony Martin to get accross and spoil it and then ride at the front of the bunch from 2k to 1k.

Looks like Cav may need a sweeper in addition to a lead-out!

Jeez, if that guy isn't eating rodents and pishing on his own hands to keep warm, he's winning Tour stages!

Did you see Cav in the interview after the stage. Apparently he spoke to Andre yesterday and told him he thought his win the day before was a technically perfect sprint. Maybe these two are getting along a bit better now.

Loved it when he found out he had green, looked so chuffed.

I think he's growing up nicely ya know!?

He's genuinely 'chuffed' too with that jersey.

It was good to see him accepting it and being gracious. Hopefully the days of storming off/helmet throwing/having a face like a slapped @rse are over.
