From the CTT web site: "Early reports are that Andrew Wilkinson has covered 317.9 miles in the CC Breckland 12hr." Apparently he did 3-36 for the first 100, 3-40 for the second and 4.00 for the third.

Just pipped you in the sprint there Mal- what a great ride - anybody got a schedule ready for next year that they can increase by 1 mph?

What a waste of talent. I wonder if he's been watching the Olympics and realises he should be there (or should have been at the last one)?

FIFY. Good effort though, most people can't ride 10 miles at that speed

With Chris Boardman commentating? Sounds like a winner.

During the Olympic TT commentary Hugh was saying that the TT at the Swedish Olympics ~1924(?) was ~190 miles!

Which goes to show things have moved on a bit for the better...

Great ride but all that talent and determination are a bit wasted on a race that means very little outside a small group of English-style TT fans, in their baggy shorts and capes.

Yeah, I don't know why people feel the need to comment on how worthwhile they think something is. Confused

Yer, but maybe he enjoys it and doesn't feel the need for other peoples approval?

If he enjoys it then that's great. Just pointing out that such a talented bloke seems wasted on obscure TT events that mean nothing outside a relatively small group of people on a small *CENSORED* island of Europe. The achievement is astonishing, and if that's what rocks your boat as a rider, fine.
But a little nudge in a different direction when starting out in the sport, and who knows what could have happened?

Yer, but maybe he enjoys it and doesn't feel the need for other peoples approval?

Each to their own but THAT can't be true.

How can anyone knock Wilco?

I started cycling when TT was the British "norm" and my first club "broke away" from a dyed in the wool TT club to become a RR club.

I still think this is an astonishing achievement.
