Can decide on what carbon frame to get for road racing this year, these are my options as I don't want a 'Lance ride one of these too, frames.

You've got a lot more options than that, even without a Trek.

Don't get a Look. I had nothing but trouble with my Look frame I bought in 2002.

Problem with the Time Edge is it comes with mandatory seatpost and stem (which cost about £250 when sold separatley) so if you don't want those then it's expensive. I had a look at the Edge in my local shop; it's ok but looks cheap when compared to the other Time models. I've also not read a review of the Edge. People rave about the TIme carbon frames but the reviews are for the top of the range model (has anyone here actually tried the Edge?)

Looks are nice but I've heard they are bit heavy.

So out of the three I would go for the Giant which seems good value and now comes in five sizes. Alot of poeple will have one this year though.

There are other frames of course. What about the Orbea Onix? Also the Scott CR1 but I don't think you can buy it as a frame.

I am not sure how it compares in price but I would go for a last year's model C40. They are superb frames and bomb proof but now that the C50 has arrived there will be plenty of bargains about. You very rarely hear any adverse comment about C40's and they are classic frames.

Err . . . remember mine? Pictures were posted here a while back.

Mine was seemingly not an isolated incident either as a few of them have folded up in the same place. I'm no lightweight but you dont expect this to happen to any frame nevermind a C40. Now have C50's but if I was starting from scratch again Time would be my choice. Faultless ride with the C40's and C50's however.

Go for the Giant! - In the 'home' of Trek, you won't find too many Giants in and around MK ('cept mine, but it's 2 years old now). The ride and handling are the best I have ever had - better than brief rides on any Trek or Look I have tried. You will not be dissappointed. Amazingly light too - way lighter than Look, C40's and Trek too. Only the top of the range Time is slightly lighter.

If it can put up with my weight I would say that is a good enough guarantee!

A Giant would be great, cheaper than the others, light, rides well and leaves enough cash to get some nice wheels too.

personally i like my pedalforce zx2 and Ra01

the Ra01 makes a lovely smooth ride with its MavicCosmic and complete DuraAce groupo with bladed forks it seems to skim through the air with ease, for the cost of the frames i was able to afford a decent groupset for both at a fraction of the cost.

http://www.pedalforce.com/web/frames.htm

Unfortuantely the front mech hanger on the RA01 could do with revising and strengthening a little but it is nice to ride Very Happy

I have an Ambrosio alu/carbon, now about £700 I'm told, which I'm very happy with.

And before PNuT starts, anyone got any advice about a modern-style lightweight saddle that is also comfortable?
