What if you take more than one of the above?

This research is flawed.

up to 3 bananas and some sort of purple squash. in terms of bananas, roughly speaking it's none for the first hour, then 1 banana per hour for every hour following that up to a maximum of 3 bananas.

this can be expressed by the formula b = h-1 if you prefer things written like that, which i don't.

Will usually take high5 and bananas on long rides. 70 miles sees me through 2 bananas and a litre of carb drink.

The only long rides I ever do are in Majorca, where we stop for coffee and cakes. Saturday and Sunday absolute max is 2 1/2 hours, just need water for that.

Before: I like to have my oats before I ride, and espresso too!

I take gels most of the time during the rides. but I do use an energy drink too.

After rides I have the proteinplus drink from powerbar, it's the best mixing drink I've found to date (no lumps and actually tastes good) and you can whizz it up in the blender with a banana and make a really good smoothie. Razz
