I always translated it Campag was English, and Campie was US.

If Campie is now European then the Yanks have taken over there.

When Shimano do a disc wheel I can buy second hand for £90. At the end of the day if it had "COMPLETE IDIOT" written on it I would still have it for that price, and perhaps it would be a little more fitting.

However, I did consider covering up the Campag stickers but finally decided against it. Did take some attention off it by putting some www.mikevaughan.co.uk ones on it instead though.

The bits I frequent (France, Belgium, Germany, Holland) call it Campagnolo. Don't know about the rest of Europe though Wink

Much as I am not a fan of the italian stuff, I'm afraid you are about to lose your chainset... It has never, ever been 'Campy' or 'Campie' or any similar sounding derivative. It is ALWAYS Campag. End of.
The yanks are the ones who have tried to introduce their stupid version of their language, and we all know they can't spell, let alone speak properly... Laughing

Maybe some european languages pronounce it in a funny way, rendering the G mute.... Look on the bright side, you can get a shiny carbon chainset as a replacement...

Or even better - a Dura-Ace one! With the BB it's both lighter and stronger than the Campag Record Carbon! Very Happy Wink
