Rich, I think you should take some of your own advice- stop moaning and get on with it!

might be time to go out and buy a whole pair then - only one shoe makes pedalling a bit uncomfortable (especially if you have it on the wrong foot.......)

I did some of me best rides on the chaingang. In fact, I lobbied the BCF to allow your licence to be signed for a win.

its a chaingang not a bash.

cyclists already call running out of energy b0nk, shave legs etc

so if i start telling my parents/non cycling mates that im off out with bike pals for a bash what chance do i have of not being rideculed!?

in that case, I'd be a ProTour rider (based on me chaingang performances)

When I used to ride the Cov bash in the early 90's it was on the understanding that if you got dropped you were on your own. From I can see MAtt is just keeping up this tradition Confused

I remember two youngsters being dropped on a bash around here. They had to send a search party out to find them! They'd got totally lost and were cold and hungry. The 'big' boys thought it would be fun to see how hard they could push them. I don't recall if they stayed in cycling or not Confused

Amused by TB's comments about getting your licence signed. Was thinking back when I raced, the races on Murkeyside were often deemed harder than Star Trophy. Liverpool Mercury (Pete Matthews, Ricky Garcia, Kevin Apter) and Doug Dailey's lot at Kirkby. I Remember Paul Sherwen telling me about getting his Evil or Very Mad kicked in a race when he had the cheek to attack John Clewarth when he was fresh in the sport.
