I've gone with the Spanish Indurain Replacement - Valverde. He's a crackingly explosive rider to watch.

I put Merckx in as this will be his last chance to win as he retires this year. (after the tour?) He seems to think that this is the classic he is most suited to.

He ought to have at least one classic to his illustrious name.

you could be right, but like some professional footballers, its doubtful whether anyone would care about him if it wasn't for who his dad is.
