We are moving from the dreamtime to the here and now as final preparations are made for the top part of the circuit to be open. I'm just back from another very positive meeting at which the details of the sequence of events leading to this partial opening were discussed.

Yes, it's frustrating to know it's nearly there, but I'm sure all will appreciate that certain things have to be done first to make sure the site is ready for users. This is very reasonable, since if you turned up and it wasn't ready, you would have a bad first impression.

There really is no point in turning up for any events that you might have heard about, but which aren't going to happen. Believe me (and after all this time and effort I hope you will) when it's ready for you, we will be the first to tell you.

- And that means you will be told a date. When you are, we want to see all our friends from Eastway once again. Looking forward to it.

Looks pretty favourable on the poll. This is good.

Hope you like it (and if you don't it's not my fault ;-) )

I voted Yes, but not as much as I would overwise have ridden at Eastway as the move further East prohibits me from riding midweek evening events. However I am sure it also benifits over riders on that side of London who can now get there easier.

Hog Hill is only 5.9 miles further East of Eastway.

which equates though to going over the Dartford crossing & in on the A12 (both chocker at rush hour),
or past Eastway and in on the A12 from the west

that's good Wink

I come round the M25, & it's generally a nightmare anyway, & each year getting to Eastway was getting worse (having to turn back sometimes mid-week).
I will ride there, just have to be prepared for the hassle.

IIRC you couldn't make the ESL on time, How are you going to find time to travel the extra 5.9 miles?

I don't think you understand the meaning of "further East", which is a measurement from the Greenwich Meridian, not Highbury, nor Eastway.

No one quantified absolute or relative measurement.

If the extra 5.9 miles are quicker than the 'old' journey because of better access/quieter roads, then it probably evens out.
Shan't be riding much at Hog Hill - it's a bit of a trek from here - but it's good to see Eastway's replacement finally coming to fruition.

At least there are soon to be two completely different kinds of circuit for you to choose from in London.
A pity it won't be the full 2km circuit from the off at Hog Hill so we will have to make the most of the indy circuit in the meantime.

- Mind you, it's no contest which circuit will have the best clubhouse (when that's finished) and view from it, so Hillingdon will have to go one better.

I've been involved with designing and analysing lots of polls and questionnaires: usually anything with less than a 20% response rate is disregarded as being hopelessly biased.
