Thinking of buying some Bonty carbon wheels, however there is currently a thread on here saying that they can collapse. Any experiences?

06 x lites models are both running well, with no problems.....

07-08's are much weaker, specialy at the hub (which is machined away) google them and look at the US forums for more breakages

I have heard of a pair of new unused xxx lites breaking in the box in a garage...Which is why my new wheel purchases will not be Bonty, even though I love the stuff.

I had a warranty issue with a pair of Carbon Race X-Lites (Deep Section), thingy-bobbies, and the front wheel did 'pulse', a little under breaking. Other than that, they were good wheels Surprised) I got the faulty ones replaced very easily thru Trek/ Bonty also.

Swapped them earlier in the year though for DA50's.

I've used them for cyclocross, and I'm 13 1/2 stone. No problems.

Launching dummy? Sorry I needed a break from racing after 10 seasons of the same *CENSORED* week in week out.

The bonty carbons will be fine for warming up on the turbo in the car park.

Watch out on second hand cos Trek consider the warranty void, even within the time period, if you were not the purchaser from new...Trek didn't want to know when my x lite front hub tore it self up all by itself...and fair enough I hear some of you say but worthy of note

I had a pair of aly Race XXX Lites and they managed to haul my 16 and a half stone bulk through 70km of Alpine foothills and a third of the Lautaret... My calf muscle collapsed under the strain, but the wheels were fine...
