Been a while since we talked about pro cycling in a positive sense so who's good at picking a winner?
If I haven't got someone who you think should be up there, put them in your reply

I think its very open this year.

Bettini's wants a 3rd.

Freire wants a 4th (Thankyou Eastway)

Boonen wants to save his season.

The Italians expect a home victory, but the Spaniards have been so dominant all year.

I'll go for Freire.

Will it be the usual spain versus italy deadlock? I think we might bet the U23 champs though.

Is Cancellera doubling up the RR with the test?

If so, although not really a wildcard, he might put in one of his bullish rides and upset the Italians and Spaniards.

Oh right. that rules my tip out then.
So I will go for a safe Valverde.

Thanks to the other VR who also voted on Kolobnev - 3rd at the worlds last year (IIRC) and top 5 at the Olympics this year - he's the dark horse who could just spring a surprise IMO....

I'm not convinced that Valverde will win it.
I voted Bettini even though he will be marked totally and almost out of it. He always is and will come through. I would have gone for the big Swiss Fella he he'd been riding though
