Isn't it supposed to be the simplest rough measure of fitness? The lower the rate, the fitter you are?

Reason: I took mine yesterday afternoon (always lowest in the afternoon for some reason) at between 40 and 44, lowest ever. But I'm still giving it my bag of spanners impression Crying or Very sad

Its a guide, but its hardly definitive. RHR depends on about a million things, of which your fitness is but one.

Pablo Lastras's RHR is about that (remembering a very old Procycling article). Fiver says he'd beat you in a 25.

Another fiver says you can't find a cyclist who wouldn't...
