+1,000,000

I would go further than that. If it takes more than two baby wipes to fully clean your bike post ride, you should really ask yourself whether the conditions were indeed appropriate when you went out in the first place...

Pampers original (green pack) are by far the best. Huggies are shyte. Johnson & Johnson ok if you run out of Pampers, but that would be a schoolboy error.

Well, no, actually. My youngest is 4 and a half now and well past nappies. But having been introduced to baby wipes as a general cleaning agent, I could never go back. Anything that can shift meconium from a newborn's bum without pain is good enough for any bike's clearcoat.

They're not wrong. psp gunk gone in seconds, 2 wipes to do an entire bike. Brilliant.

Morrisons' face wipes - useful for wiping down both rider and bike after a race.

Cosmetic wipes? Aren't they a lot more expensive and less robust?

These are the fellas. Bombproof ie they don't rip, and they clean oil, grease and any kind of baked on crud off your beloved.

Currently available in boxes of 12 for £13.74 at Tesco.

Not to be confused with the white packet Pampers that have got aloe vera or some other such muck in them, are not as good at cleaning, and rip.

Remember who told you first!

One of the best things about having kids was the discovery of how good baby wipes were, that and an endless supply of lovely white bodysuits to buff the bike with afterwards, just make sure you cut the buttons off first.

At the risk of being a bit fick, what exactly is the point of keeping the frame spotlessly clean? The bits you really want to keep clean are the moving parts - drivetrain, brakes, derailleurs etc - for which wipes are useless.

Even more confusing to me; why wipe your bike over the morning before a race? It's been sitting in yer garage for a week, covered in filth, yet you wipe it down 10 minutes before it gets dirty again.

Anyone?

Dirty frame, makes it easy to damage the finish, either from cable rub. Or rubbing against it with legs or whatever.
