I have a Centaur (not QS) 10 speed right ergo lever that rattles like bu**ery on rough roads. I have tried sticking tape between the gear and brake lever, but it doesn't seem to help. The rattle stops when I move the gear lever away from the brake.

Any ideas how to stop being driven mad?

Put a sticky backed rubber dome thingy on the back of the brake lever. There should be one there already but sometimes they are not perfectly lined up, ergo, they rattle. See what I did there?

the springs in the ergo lever go weak a common fix is one of the laggy bands that come off of inner tubes, otherwise its a complete rebuild and, a new shift lever you cannot replace this particular spring.

I hope so. As you can see above, I suggested that he do this in September....
