Confused am I.

I have just been invited to my best friends wedding on 18 August 2007...however, this clashes with the National Madison champs in Scotland.

What should I do... Shocked

Well I have decided to let you...the VR community decide.

I will reply to the wedding invite next week following the results of the 7 day poll I have just started!!

Over to you!

Any other advice or excuses that I could use are more than welcome Wink

Go to the wedding - unless of course you are a serious contender in the championship.

What sort of friend would you be if you didn't support him on the biggest day of his life?

Then again what sort of friend is he not to support you at the Madison championship - selfish git.

I'm surprised no-one has yet suggested the most obvious solution, and that's to move the wedding to the Madison venue so you can do both.

Heck, why not enter the bride and groom as a pairing? They can have the service as they go around - you know, like in the London Marathon where invariably at least one couple get married mid-way through the race...

...it's been done before (albeit at a Grass Track event, not a National Championships).

Judging by the standard of last year's event, a medal will be very hard to win. Go to the wedding.

look it's like this - unless you're paying for the wedding or have a starring role or are related to the two main actors, weddings are ****. You will score more points by going to the happy couple after the event and braving the whole video/pictures thing on a day when you aren't busy.
The bride and groom won't miss you (bride especially, the whole day's a blur) and they will love a chance (ok the bride will love it) to go over the whole day again.

Send a decent present, do the race. Sorted.

5 grand please

If it's your best mate, you've got to go to the wedding.

There will be other Madison Champs and you'll probably be in better shape to put up a serious challenge next year.
