Started me second week this morning going to work on the Mtb instead of my winter bike. Without a doubt the biggest advantage is safety. 90% of the 10 mile route is footpaths and the like, it adds 10 mins to the journey but well worth it. If you ask me its Mtb in the dark months then road bike the rest of the time. Put that in yer pipe n smoke it.

Riding an MTB on roads is like being force fed a heavy dosage of ketamine and then being thrown onto a trampoline with boxing gloves and wellies on.
