The British Cycling East Midlands Regional Team are pleased to announce details of the County Club Forum Meetings.

The aims of the meetings are:

• To deliver practical, useful and focused sessions / workshops to clubs and coaches
• To allow the clubs and coaches in the county to communicate with each other on a regular basis and potentially create joint pieces of work e.g. coaching sessions, events, race series etc
• To give clubs, coaches and county cycling partners the opportunity to speak on a regular basis with Regional British Cycling Team.
• To give clubs the opportunity to speak with other partners and access additional support e.g. County Sports Partnerships, Local Authority, School Sports Partnerships etc

The format of the evening will be as follows:

• 6.30pm - 7.30pm - Intros and welcome. What support is out there for Clubs? Club, County and Regional Planning session focusing on key areas including event planning, go ride delivery, talent delivery and coach education - the aim of this session is to give the meetings some specific focus and direction in the future and to ensure that clubs are getting out of the meetings what they want and need.

• 7.40pm - 8.45pm - coaching masterclass - bring your bikes and helmets!! - this is an interactive coaching session for club coaches focusing on good practice in developing young riders. The regional coaches will deliver the session to the group and explain why aspects of the session are being delivered with the view of coaches being able to take away drills from the session and incorporate them into their club delivery. For clubs that are new to go ride this may also help them to see what a typical go ride coaching session would look like.

If you are a club volunteer that does not coach you are welcome to stay and speak to members of the BC regional team who will be happy to discuss your views and plans for your club or the region.
