I was wonder if I would be allowed to ride road races on a XC bike, I work abroad and have my road bike here in Norway with me but regularly come back to Lincolnshire where my only bike is a cross bike. Would I be allowed a start? |

An XC bike or a cross bike?
Two different things.........
The cross bike (CX) with road tyres and some larger gears will be fine.
An mtb/XC bike will be useless, and you won't be allowed to start anyway. |

Braking could be a bit dodgy. _________________ And the senses being dulled are mine. |

There was a cross bike being ridden in the Lincoln GP! _________________ As Chris Carmichael would say in his training manual "What would Lance do?". Now we know! |

I've seen cross bikes at Darley and Mallory. No Problems as far as I could see. |

Thanks,
Moy only real concern was braking. My road bike and very efficient brakes better than the old campag record I used to ride, the cantis on my cx bike are not as effective.
Guess I'll turn up and see. |

Ride Mallory and Darley Moor and you don't even need brakes really. I have seen plenty of cyclo cross bikes at road races and they all seemed fine. Surely the brakes aren't that bad? |
