It's getting to that time of year when we all need some long sunday rides in derbyshire and I need to sneak on one to gat a little fitter for next years racing.

So I am looking for some decent runs from the nottingham area.

Any offers.

Wednesdays as well eh', what time and where for the Wednesday one.

I have a lot of old memories of saturdays parrot run going for cafe points.
I'd be first to admit that they are great for clearing out the lungs and making the thighs burn, but, well you know.

The Wednesday run meets at Lowdham war memorial at 9.15am, it leaves about 9.25am... best not be late.

The Wednesday runs are really good and steady.

There will be longer training rides this winter. We have a plan for world domination bwah hahhaah! Wink Laughing Laughing

Seriously, join Sherwood, and you get access to our messageboards (Same software as here), and we arrange races and training sessions there.

No insane parrot bashing early in the autumn/winter! We've banished Doris, and we have decent training runs as well as a club run.

On the training runs, we are social and we do regroup, but you are expected to be fairly quick.

The club run drops nobody, Ed makes sure everyone arrives at the cafe.

You've obviously never been on one, TomcaT. Else you'd know that Weds runs leave at 9.16am. Make sure you're there by 9.15.

We also have an "unofficial" Friday morning run to Newark. Meeting at thesame time and place as Weds.

As for nobody getting dropped on the Club run. I regularly get dropped, but then I'm fat and slow. I always ask Ed where the run is going and meet them there.

The ones I have attended have NEVER left at 9.16am..... more like the time I said.

Can recommend the Wednesday and Sunday runs, Saturday's end up in a burn up to the cafe. They do have the odd crash though.....

Whatever.

So, Tomcat what do you think to the proposed new 10 course?

After years of practice, my knowledge of local lanes is almost as good as Ed's!

Saturday runs aren't too bad if you stay with the Ed group and resist the temptation to join the burn up.

I wasn't aware that the burn up had started, missed Ed's group, wasn't sure where I was and eventually made it to the cafe. My knowledge of the lanes is now slightly improved...

I do not know which course has been proposed, I thought we was going to chuck Mapperley CC of their course and take that over?

Does anyone in Shewood actually go to work?
Mind you I only do 12 days a month, so should probably keep quiet.

Will try and get out with you when not at work then.

Arrrh, Doris heh.

We have quite a few vets who've taken early retirement (including Club Captain Ed) plus others who have a day off midweek and some more who work for themselves. The rest of us just take odd day off when we can.
