Any one fancy a chain gang thursday nights 6.30pm from lowdham island using the old Lowdham island to, right at Thurgaton, left at Fiskerton to Southwell then up Oxton bank down to Oxton Island, then either back to Lowdham or up pitt lane to the Ollerton Road.
Its the one Wilko used to give us a kicking on.

If anyone fancies it show your interest on this notice board and we'll know whether to run it.

Thanks

I could go for that.

I could meet up at Bleasby where I'd drop off my heavy commute bike and jump on my race machine. I get home about 6:30, so I'd head back towards Lowdham until I see the group.

Personally I would prefer you on a very heavy commute bike. Wink

I'm glad your keen, if you could whip up some more of the Sherwood lads that would be great too. I said thursday as I know both Sherwood and Mapperley will be running evening 10's on wednesday nights.

Animal and a few of the other Sherwoods originally said they will go on the chaingang, but now seem to have chickened out (still recovering from our mega-hard 10 on Tuesday). There should be one or two there, if the weather's OK.

Did you get many turn up?

First thursday I can do is 28th April. I will keep passing the word about and hopefully we can get a good working chaingang going in our area.

Only one turned up, it was a nice evening too! Let's hope we can get a few more out as the weeks go by.

It will very much depend on the racing schedule and my state of recovery.

Every morning, I ride 17 miles to Harvey Hadden, and then do rowing and weights before work. After work it's 17 miles home. On Tuesdays I race on top of that.

At 42 I have to recover between intense sessions. I am mentally able to push myself hard enough in the time trial, so I don't really need the chaingang. It's just a bit of fun as and when my body allows.

Not sure if the Thursday chaingangs will ever get off the ground.

If anyone's interested. I've heard of a group that meets at the Roko Health Club on Wilford Lane on Wednesdays at 6.15pm. They get around 8 or 9 out and go out for 2 hours.

A guy who rides our tens goes. He says they are fast and he's a 22 min 10 miler.

Are you going out tonight then as it is the 28th?
