World Champion to Open Bike Film Festival.


World Cycling Champion Rob Hayles will attend the opening of Leicester Bike Film Festival.

The 4th annual Bike Film Festival opens on 27th May with the screening of several Leicester made short cycle films and British Cycling’s new ‘Go Ride’ training film. ‘Go Ride’ targets budding cycling stars of the future and features all of Great Britain’s Olympic medal winning riders from the Athens Games.

Leicester based ‘Go Ride’ film maker Stewart Charles said; “It’s excellent Rob has a chance to come along and see the first screening”.

Festival Organiser Andy Salkeld said; “This year’s festival is the biggest yet and truly international with locally made bike films being screened alongside the latest offerings from New York, the Brazilian *CENSORED* ‘Caminho das Nuvens’ and favourites such as ‘Bellville Rendezvous’”.

The 4th Leicester Bike Film Festival takes place from 27th to 29th May at the city’s Phoenix Art Theatre on Newark Street. It forms part of the larger ‘Ride Leicester Festival’ over the same weekend, featuring BMX demonstrations, ‘*CENSORED*-try’ events, cycling history, bike rides, cycle training and the chance to win free bikes.
