|
|
at
MALLORY PARK MOTOR RACING CIRCUIT
Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire
THURSDAY EVENINGS
7PM - 9PM
Beginning November 3rd
Cost: £1.50
Come and get some miles in away from the traffic.
Different ability groups depending upon the number of riders
Front and rear working lights required
All ages welcome, but under 12's must have a parent / guardian riding with them at all times.
All under 18's need a signed parental consent form
(available at the start of each session)
If you are tired of the turbo or fed up fighting traffic on dark winters nights, this is the place for you! No cars, and real tarmac! The rides will be clubrun style, steady riding during November, but cyclo cross riders looking for a quality workout can easily be accommodated.
Please note that these sessions are being run as a trial for 5 weeks (until Dec 1st). If there is sufficient interest and support from riders (to ride!) and clubs (to share in putting them on), then they can continue until the start of the summer season.
Contact Gary Coltman on email: Lorccoaching@aol.com or call 07770 466441 for more information or to offer your help in organising. |

As I've said on another forum - this is just what is needed, especially for the youngsters. It is a safe way of mid week training during the winter, with loads of help and advice.
The reason for this post is that I urge anyone who has been there to contact Gary to offer to collect the £1.50 fee for a couple of weeks during the winter. This way, it could continue right up to the racing season!
If you think it can be left for Gary to do - think again. He can't do it all!
We will take over from Gary in December, up to Christmas - anyone for January?? _________________ The starting point of all achievement is Desire.

Just noted this great idea and would like to attend with A.N.Other...
Can anyone give me any feedback on numbers attending/pace/intensity that we may expect. If its a roadrace in the dark, then may not be what we're looking for in November?
On the other hand, its safe, etc.
Feedback welcome, cheers! |

40 the first week - 50 the second - 3 groups ( the middle group that I was in averaged 19mph) - lapped twice by the scratch group. You can miss laps and rejoin - no reason to be dropped on this training run!! _________________ The starting point of all achievement is Desire.

Cheers Dave. Weather looks fair for Thursday so no reason to miss it. |

Gave it a try tonight - about 40 there. Very good and safe, even if that uphill to the hairpin was hard and came round all too quickly.
Looks like you have to be able to keep up with the fast 20-25 to really enjoy it, but think everyone would benefit from trying this - recommended to all as they say on e-bay?
Thanks to the man in the hut who took my £1.50.
Cheers! |

Man in the hut could have been Dave Edlin, Team Bradgate -who are doing the rest of December. Who's carrying on in January??? _________________ The starting point of all achievement is Desire.
