Are there not enough top pros without his lack of self disipline to choose from then? A bit like that short , fat, cheating, *CENSORED* taking Argentinian footballer, Maradonna. No doubt a great talent but would you tell your son use him as a role model ? _________________ If it does not kill you it makes you stronger. |

JAn will take time in the TT's, but has the potential to lose a lot more in the hills. I think Ivan's awesome climbing prowess will see him through and he will win for the next 3 years. |

The Jan will be on the top step on the Paris podium. I'll bet me *CENSORED* on it. |

Basso hasn't got the balls to win the tour. He basically sat on Armstrongs wheel for 3 years. Only Jan had a pair big enough to stand up to Armstrong year after year. |

The standard line is I think the correct one:
Armstrong prepared 100%; from the podium of one tour to the start of the next, and then performed to 100%.
Jan typically prepared 0% in the autumn, poorly in the spring then attempted to cram it all in the last three months. Such is his talent he could race himself to form, not to the sag wagon, but would already have lost the race.
This year I think he's done it the Armstrong way and thus will win, Basso or no Basso; doing the double is for supermen which he has not yet shown himself to be.
Has anyone done the Giro/Tour double for their first tour win? If Basso does it he will of course then be a superman! |
I don't think der kaiser has prepared like armstrong this year - more a case of Basso having prepared like armstrong instead. Basso probably started training for the giro-tdf double possibility at about end of nov/begin december time once all the routes had been confirmed. Jan has obviously started his build up late again - winning tour suisse doesn't prove anything - I'm sure he won it last year. Again Jan will have another 3rd place in le tour and maybe win the hew classics or zurich grand prix and then retire. |

Mine are, in no particular order are,
Vinokourov, Basso, Valverde, Landis and long shot Leipheimer.
Yours are ? _________________ If it does not kill you it makes you stronger. |

Wrong.... Ullrich was preparing for this years tour months ago with a setback in Marchb due to a knee issue. Remember jan is a far more experienced tour rider than Basso, and know exactly what it takes to win or fininsh on the podium again. it will come down to the strongest team and strongest rider, as everyone prepares differently..
when i say prepares i say it in the true sense, not *CENSORED* etc. _________________ www.jessvarnish.com
