Shocked Kingy, there is nothing wrong with having a true Winter bike, the possibility that it may fall to pieces before the end of the training run. Its suprising how a bike can be kept together with tie wraps, sticky back plastic and that Cowpoomud mixture we pick up round here.

Jeff i will say I have never seen one of your retro creations actually fail Exclamation
Never actually reaching the depths of the infamous camel...

I really need to sort a proper winter bike out for next October...may as well carry on with my 8 year old heap for a while.

Is that your Carbon fibre heap Rolling Eyes

The CAMEL did'nt fail, but was stolen, there were some desperate people in Peterborough in those days. Must of known how famous it was.

Botto (owner of the camel) would be good for the Rutland classic

Botto would be a good choice

The pinarello is actually steel with a carbon back end.

The camel was stolen Question is nothing sacred

We could try and get Simon Bray ( former National Road champion) back over this way, he must of trained on these roads, coming from Oakham.

This would not be a bad team, both Paul and Adam are good cyclo cross riders and you need bike handling skills for this one and James has done it before and finished high up in the classment

James Cambridge
Paul Cox
Adam Gasciogne

So, the West Midlands want to put up a team - I think we ought to throw down the challenge to that, any more serious suggestions?
Riders I'd give the OK on so far:
Jimmy Cambridge
Andy Eagers
Andrew Stuart
Dave Clarke ( ain't sure he has a team yet....)
need 2 more....
