I have got 34 cheques for prize winners which have not been sent out due, amongst other reasons, to unreadable addresses on signing-on-sheets. I will be trying to sort out the addresses in the next few weeks but if you think that you are due a prize, not got one for Varno, email me with your address to pjw.mooney@btinternet.com. I will make a list of any not claimed and display it at Mallory Park. See you all at the first night.

There probably the moaners

East Midlands Cycle Racing League
Minutes of Meeting held at The Coach House, Mallory Park
7.30pm - 9.00pm 7 March 2007

In attendance :
John Blackledge (Websters Cycles)
Alan Vallance (Coalville Wheelers)
Jon Crookes (Cycling Bargains.com)
Sue Herriman (Plan B Racing)
Anne Staley (Plan B Racing)
Stewart Collier (Websters Cycles)
Apologies:
Kellie Sidwell (Hinckley CRC)
Martin Booth (Cycling Bargains.com)
John Pearson (Royal Sutton C.C)
Pete Mooney (Rugby Velo)

Minutes:
1. Safety and running or events: Pete Mooney’s observations regarding the need to have a
minimum of 5 people to manage each event were noted and agreed. It was suggested and
agreed that if a promoting club should not have sufficient helpers for an event that any of
that particular clubs members riding that evening should assist rather than ride.

2. Appointment of new Series Co-ordinator: a new appointment was discussed but no
one attending the meeting was able to volunteer. Stewart Collier agreed to finalise matters
relating to the 2007 series up to the date of the first event such that the races can continue
as normal. The position then to be vacant awaiting appointment of a new Co-ordinator for
2008.

3. Appointment of new treasurer: John Blackledge volunteered for the appointment and
was duly elected. Peter Buttery and Alan Valance undertook to deal with the relevant bank
mandate to transfer authority to John.

4. New promoting dates for weeks 4, 13 and 14: Stewart Collier explained that Dave
Wilkes had with regret withdrawn from promoting week 4 of the series due to lack of
membership in Bradgate R.C. Stewart Collier reported that he had contacted Welland Valley
C.C and Litchfield City C.C with a view to them hopefully promoting a week each and was
awaiting a positive response. It was agreed that other clubs should be approached as
necessary.

5. Transfer of race ‘kit’ (e.g. race numbers, keys, bell etc) from week to week: Jon
Crookes agreed to collect the kit from Martin Booth and transfer it to ‘Websters Cycles’ for
the first week’s event. Each club to be then responsible for collecting the ‘kit’ for the
following week, as has happened in previous years.

6. Any other business:
a. ‘Superbikes’ week at Mallory Park: It was reported that the circuit would not be
available for Thursday evening 19th July 2007 coinciding with the ‘Superbike’ week and it was
agreed that no substitute event should be held in August. Thursday evening events will be
thirteen weeks instead of fourteen.
b. Treasurers report: Peter Buttery presented accounts for 2006 to the meeting and these
are available from him upon request. Peter also provided figures for the average number of
riders per night, being 77 for Tuesdays and 25 for Thursdays. All present agreed these
figures displayed the success of the series and in particular Tuesday evenings.
c. Vacant weeks: It was the hope of all present that new promoting clubs could be found to
fill the vacant weeks noted in item 4 above. It was however agreed that the series should
be reduced to twelve weeks if volunteers could not be found.

He's recently left his job in Ashby and has defected to Welbeck College. The downside is that he misses most of our Saturday morning rides now. I'll ask him what kind of student you were next time I see him. Wink

Oh this was way back when, De Lisle in Loughborough, early 90's.

I was in the 'has potential, but could do better' category Laughing
