Does anyone know if there is there a Saturday morning chain gang up the A6 in Derby ? I've got into cycling this year after being injured in running and got as far as doing some Derby Mercury club 10s - I would like to have a go at road racing next year and a guy said try joining in on this chain gang - I'm new to this so what is the score - do you just tag on or what?

I'm currently doing about 140-200 miles a week but fairly unfocused - I feel I could get more benefit from the time I put in.

Any advice would be appreciated.

tom,
there are a few meets up the A6, but think they`re all on sundays!
can give you locations though- outside 'broadway' pub right at derby end of a6, theres also a chaingang from the pub, main road in duffield, (9.30 am) and a meet at ambergate bit earlier at 9 i think.

i go to duffield one sometimes and they normally head up to elton cafe, informal and friendly, do as much or liottle as u want (within reason) Wink

on second thoughts broadway may be saturday i think! gud luc Smile

There were plenty of groups heading south on the A6 this saturday, not sure were they started from.
