Talking to Jacko this dinner and got on the subject of having proper Sunday morning runs again. Decent ride into Derbyshire, not a race but good steady tempo with Cafe stop.
Possibly 9.30am Cinderhill Island? |

I would imagine something like Elton Cafe/Stoney Middleton Cafe that sort of thing, so I guess from Cinderhill you'll be looking at around 70miles. I've thrown it on here to see what sort of response it gets, before the thread goes downhill. Ofton I get asked on a Saturday morning on the Parrots when I go, what you doing on a Sunday morning? This way we have a meeting point where all clubs would be welcome. I appreciate the established clubs in the area have their own clubs runs and I wouldn't want to take that away from any of them. |

The faster Sherwood riders are planning something similar, open to all comers. This will be in addition to Ed's normal Sunday run from Shearing Hill.
I think they are planning to meet at Wilford at 9.00 for forays into Charnwood and Leics Wolds but also occasional rides into Derbyshire, perhaps changing the meeting point to Cinderhill for the Derbys runs.
These ran last year and were getting around 12 out each week, with Animal, Doris, Darren Hodgkinson, Chris Aulton and a few others out most weeks. I think Rob Sharman went on a couple. They were averaging 19-20 mph.
These runs will be starting in the next couple of weeks. |

I do appreciate that Cinderhill in not the perfect place to meet for everyone but what it does have is the quickest route into the Peak district for us city types and free, secure(ish) parking at the tram park and ride, for anyone who wants to drive there.
They will always be someone who says they are from Clifton, Beeston or wherever and that will always be the case. |

On last weeks Parrots it was muted by a few folks that a weekly run into Derbyshire would be a good thing. This is something that VC Nottm did every Sunday, meeting at Cinderhill at 9:30. Probably a rose tinted specs moment.
The rides generally covered 80 miles with stop going to Stoney (most regular), Bakewell, Buxton, Grindleford, Elton, etc with the occasional stop at Ambergate.
I will only train one day at the weekend and can't spend all day playing around in the Peaks like a 18 year old, so for me will want to meet up, do the ride and get home before 2pm if possible. IMO the best bet would be to stick with the Sunday morning Toll Bridge group, get a good group together and mix the routes up to take in the Peaks now and then. _________________ You can't polish a turd |

Exactly the same situation for me. I think Mrs Millers patience would finally crack. |

When i go out on me bike i want to be out with real men and i don't want to be faffing around with cafe stops either. You and Jacko want to get your heads together with Webbie, he always has to back for his dinner or a trip down to Ikea.
All the presses are running and i'm down for Sunday 12hrs. _________________ ''Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting''..... Steve McQueen. |

They are already going on out of Melton.
Just join the MOCC run , regular Sunday runs out, 55 to 65 miles , cafe stop and back by 1pm. _________________ http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3094845440/tt0069704

If anyone fancies it, Daz Cooper, Fox, Mr Troman and myself will be leaving ShoeCo in Mansfield at 9am prompt every Sunday morning, regardless of the weather, and heading towards Bakewell and Buxton, via The Snake.
It works out the mini bus costs around £7.50 per head. Everyone welcome. |
