May I suggest that the groups constantly rotate 'through and off' rather than the usual, which is that the front two riders peel off at the hairpin?
With the latter, it tends to be the same eight or so riders doing all the work at the front - with the rest craftily dropping to the back on the climb.
With constant 'through and off' everyone gets an equal share of the pain and the gain. |

It was rubbish last night. Everyone just seemed to want to ride round on their own. Three of us ended up doing through and off, but with only three, it was hard to sustain. |
