Clubs near West Bridgford

Hi,

I've just moved to West Bridgford and have also just started road cycling. I'm interested in doing time trials (10 milers at the moment as I don't have an auful lot of time to train).

Are there any clubs in West Bridgford? or which clubs are nearest?

Hi Lewis try the Sherwood CC. They have a big membership that caters for all types of cycle racing, a good range of club run activities and they have evening 10 mile tt's every week through out the summer. I recommend the Saturday morning 'Parrot Run' which is Sherwood CC's all comers run out as a good way for you to get into things locally. It meets 9-45am in Lowdham, details are on the site. Cheers

You could look at Nottingham Clarion CC - club runs meet at the Lime Kiln PH near Cropwell Bishop (West Bridgford side of Nottingham) and a lot of members come from that side of the city.

Also 10 mile evening time trials start from the Lime Kiln PH near Cropwell Bishop every Thursday at 7pm although there are only 3 events left this season including tonights!

Yes. Sherwood have several members who live the Bridgford side of town. I'm in the city center but we often have a group that meets for rides that go south of the river.
Join us and you'll soon get to know where and when the 'Groovy gang' ride!!

Where do the evening 10's run from for the Sherwood club Fluffy (or anyone else)? Couldn't tell from the website instructions.

Sherwood 10's start on the A6097 near Oxton. Run on a Tuesday night starting at 7.00 pm. Only 2 more left this year.

Clarions are on a Thursday night, starting from the Lime Kiln.

You could also try Beeston (Tuesday) and Long Eaton(thursday). These both start near the Star Inn at West Leake. South of the river but you'd have to go out via Clifton and Gotham to get there (or Bunny & East Leake).

There's also a 10 on the A46 starting at the Durham Ox Hotel, south of Willoughby on the Wolds. This is on Thursday, I think and run by one of the Leicester clubs.

Sherwood Sunday Club runs start from the railway bridge on Burton Road in Carlton - only about 4 miles from West Bridgford. Meet at 9.00am.
