The, ROGER MARTIN MEMORIAL RACE, will be held on Sunday the 22nd of April 2007.
Roger along with his son Simon was the founder of VeloRiders. Roger was an immensely popular person, who until recently could be seen at cycling competitions all over the country, whether or not it was a Road Race, Hill Climb or Cyclo Cross , Roger would be there, recording the event with a superb range of action images for the VR gallery .
Rogers Memorial Race, will take place on an undulating 12.4 klm circuit starting from Heather, Nr Ashby at 12 noon and will cover a total distance of 136 klm. An interesting part of the course will take the riders of road, through a farmyard and over a couple of cattle grids before rejoining the circuit. I am sure that on this course, the race will prove to be a fitting remembrance to Rogers Name for years to come.
The event will be open to Elite 1st 2nd and 3rd category riders. and the entry fee for the event will be £15.
Various trophies are planned within the race with Sprint competitions etc.
All monies surplus after the event will be presented to the cancer unit that treated Roger during his short illness.
Very generous of fers of help and assistance including prizes and donations have been pledged, even before we were up and running with the event.
There will be a good programme printed for the event, space will be available for advertising, for a suitable donation.
Any offer s of help in running the event, Of ficials, marshals or donations etc . would be well received.
Please contact, Eddie White, event organiser, at eddie@merlinracingteam.com or event coordinator Martin Booth at mart.booth@hotmail.com

I'm really looking forward to it
My top 3 at a guess should come from: numbers 2,6,13,19,24,25 with an outside chance for 38 ( Jimmy C)
- so see you all there! _________________ The starting point of all achievement is Desire.
