Dangerus has had 3 stiches in an eye wound, Ron Legg had a few in a head wound.
The Docter suspected I had fractured my cheek bone, but after x-rays it confirmed not to be so. I have grown another head on my cheek and my right eye is now closed and very black.
Thanks for asking.
ps.
The staff at QMC had a laugh with us all, as we all saw the funny side of it, 3 sepperate crashes within 30 minutes in different places. Roads were slippery early on. |

It was on the way to the Parott run when I slid off on a greasy roundabout.
Fixed the bike rode straight back home and then straight to QMC, were the others turned up about 30 minutes later.
Can now see just out of my right eye, so I am on the mend and will return soon.
Thanks for your concern all !

Morning Rodders
In a minority sport, and despite all the progress cycling is still a minority sport in the UK, why alienate support/participation? Whilst you 'boys' might find the 'big , slow moving, technically inept woman racer' hilarious it really doesn't help the image of the sport
The original Rooster post stated that organising womens road races was a waste of time. How would you feel if we ladies said the same thing about mens racing? When you have a World and Olympic Road Race Champion feel free to mock! _________________ 'You are a free woman. He may well have found it to be a waste of time, i found (on the whole) organising a womens team to be a waste of time.
People wouldn't turn up (cos so and sos on the start list), wouldn't listen to any advice (from anyone, ferchrisakes, it was meant to be developing the racing, can't do that without learning new skills), wouldn't do any training (racings not easy, you need to do some training) and so on, the list is much longer, but i can't be bothered......... basically, some were keen, many weren't.
You can say the same about mens racing if you want, water off a ducks back i'm afraid. |

Yet you post about successful women in your present club
I just get tired of the same old attitudes and the same old jokes. _________________ 'You are a free woman. You will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, de-briefed (that you should be so lucky ) or numbered. Your life is your own.' |

You could at least take the time to accurately quote and reflect what rooster actually said.
This was in the context of there being no Veteran's national series listed on the BC website.
rooster wrote: |
Fancy haveing a womens series and not a vets, seems like a waste of BC organisational talent to me. |
how do you get from that statement to yours?
KJ wrote: |

That's clearly not what he said.
Current BC stats. list 784 female licence holders compared to 7226 males. Unforunately there is no break down of the number of over 30s (masters) and over 40s (veterans) but, given that Over 23s make up 63% of all licence holders, it's reasonable to assume that Veteran riders far outnumber Women riders. This surely was the point in roosters' original post.
For the record, Karen, I'm firmly on your side in this debate. That doesn't alter the fact that you're reading something into this which wasn't there.
There is so much that we can do to improve cycling in this country, so can we please argue constructively against problems which exist rather than create non existant battles about wrongly perceived slights?
(Cue post from Rooster saying you'd got it spot on ) |
