A new cafe opened yesterday near Hockerton, Notts www.newfieldicecream.co.uk 01636 636600

About a mile out of Hockerton on the Caunton road.

Very welcoming and a warm, spacious cafe. Not cheap but reasonable - pot of tea £1.70 (pot for 2 is better value). Range of sanwiches, hot meals breakfast baps etc. I've suggested they add beans on toast to their menu and they say they will.

Also sell a large range of ice cream (bit cold for me at present).

Usually open 7 days 9-5. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day and will close about 3pm Christmas Eve.

They also have a function room for things like childrens parties, educational visits etc. Play area outside if you want to take kids.

Thanks for the info Bob. They were open 7 days but seems they have chosen to have Mondays off now.
