Note this relates to a real event and may affect the outcome Wink

I must have won about three quid in cycling. I always donate it to the organising club <smug self important grin> so question does not arise.

Refund fully, you may want to race in another of his/her events.

If its someone like Sue Knight, who is the South Division saviour - being blacklisted could leave you with a lot of empty weekends.

Dont see much point in asking the question!? Ive never known it n 12 years racing?
Most organisers wouldnt mention it anyway i think - leave them with the prize money as it was their own mistake?

If it's a genuine/honest mistake, refund. No question. How much is it anyway, and when you say a cheque is "cashed", do you mean paid in? In which case write one and send it back.

Hey Oz, three or four years ago an 'early season U7 event' had to award the team prize three times, 'cos they got it wrong the first two times! I got a cheque on the third and final calculation, as far as I know the others weren't asked to pay theirs back!

It does happen. I returned a cheque given to me in error at the first race of this season... took it at the event and then posted it back to the organiser.

It helped that there were two other cheques though Laughing

Shocked How could someone be so stupid as to award a prize before they have double checked everything, especially if given out on the day. If sent out with the results sheets then it is inexcusable. A team prize is pretty easy to work out...

If they were... then something would have been known about it way before prizes were sent out.

Pure stupidity is the only answer...

Knowing NikB (as I know you do...) then you know he probably had arm warmers on anyway. Wink

Mind you - that may be grounds to DQ him... Shocked Wink

The organiser who made the mistake is getting on a bit which probably explains why it happened. I think your comments are OTT Paul, our race organisers are amateurs just like us. So what if they make a mistake, it's not such a big deal is it?
