What about it? Please clarify your poll.... Rolling Eyes

The normal kit is easier to spot in a bunch, but the quality of the Team GB Olympic kit is much higher.

Shocked Which strip do you prefer - the "Olympic team strip" consisting of predominatly blue and white jerseys as seen on the tell every day this week or the "BCF National Team Strip" worn until very recently at major international events (but only by British riders), excluding the Olympic Games - recognised normally by big letters all over it saying something along the lines of "Great Britain". Please comment purely on the aestthetic design of the strip, leaving such matters as *CENSORED* atrributes, breathability, washing temperature etc available for a further poll. At this stage we will assume sock colour is white or for track riders no socks.

Hope this helps clarify the vague wording of this rather complicated poll. Wink

Prefer the Olympic strip, though Sydney's was better.

Think the Olympic strip looks kak, difficult to spot (or it has been during the running) And what has happened the having the country name on the shorts??

In a previous thread I had to ask what colours the GB squad were using. Having seen the photgraph that one VR identified, one was able to look for the "bluey-violet" colour but the white and red panels are obscured when a rider is in full flight!

For the road-race a complete flop whilst only the repetitive lapping of the track and the fact that each team/rider is identified by captions on the screen or track panel, permits identification to be made.
A cost cutting exercise compared with some countries.

The GB olympic strip is bland, and when you look at the track team on their all black bikes, they look like some early 80's eastern block team.

More flashy colour please Very Happy

You mean like that lovely shade of vomit green from a few years ago?

Bike Babe, Emma, Elaina and a few of the other birds on this site were getting all excited when they saw the headline "Olympic Team Strip" Laughing
Now all they can offer is help with the washing instructions Laughing

For the Olympics in every other sport GB competitors are wearing the same strip, so it would be churlish (and probably impossible) to argue for another design. The BOA are providing a lot of money to the overall team so have a right to have the final decision on the design.

The standard design used normally is much better and certainly a huge huge improvement on that awful yellow/green design. For track spectators, however, having one red and one blue sleeve means that spotting the riders is more difficult as their colours are different when they are on the far straight. It can be quite difficult for bunched races but never mind, if it is Chris Newton he is probably the one near the front!

We are presumably using different suppliers for these Union Jack design jerseys as at the World Championships the team pursuit team did not have quite the same design, at least in proportions, for all four riders. A small but important point at this level. My Australian friend spotted it before I did and was able to make the appropriate mickey taking remark.

My wife commented that Vickys looked see-through from behind during the sprint qualifier

No i mean a little more imagination than 'like a strip from a few years ago'.

Black carbon is getting boring again too.
