As said before John traffic builds up alot after 10.00 so we have decided to finish the race asap by starting early.
Does anyine know if it is an option to have 30 sec start intervals in a CTT event.
If traffic is such a problem, you won't ever be able to accomodate more than 60 riders as that is the implication of saying the last man should start at 9am. Pity as there will be fewer spectators and it will be colder too.
As for 30 sec intervals, you need police and DC permission to do that. Not sure the police would be keen.

please tell John not to catch me on Sunday

Richard, does that mean the event is now limited to 60?

Of course not but if the field is less than 120 we would rather fill it from the earliest start time than from the latest. We have had serious discussions about moving this event to another part of the county due to the increased traffic levels on these narrow roads. This solution is one way to ameliorate the problem.
If we (hopefully) get a full field next year then 30 secs intervals is a good way to get the riders off the road before traffic builds up. I don't know why more clubs don't do this.

Because the police don't let them.

i believe its classed as a road race if the intervals are less than 1 minute, road races need police permission

is that correct mister know it all ?

He was a DNS in my ten on the F20 in June. Wind and poor light were his reasons.

Flatulence never stopped me riding Shocked

I think it'll be a bit quicker than that if it's not too windy. I road around in 1:18 last weekend, and that wasn't full speed( 82% MHR)
