Well Duh! I wonder why?

Can't you see it's not coincidence? He doesn't fall (compared to some - he's not a "faller"). He takes charge of his body and concentrates at all times. He looks after his health, and *CENSORED*.

Could you ever see him going to a club and taking E?

No. That's why he'll win.
True, but Miguel Indurain had his preparation at the highest level, too. He dominated the Dauphine just before his final tour, as he'd done before. No-one believed he'd be beaten. It only takes the tiniest thing to go wrong (as Martin pointed out, he might break a spoke Confused ) for the door to open for others.

While I would like to see Jan win another Tour, I think his biggest problem is illustrated by the fact there are three T-Mobile riders in the choices for this poll! Given the rumours of dissent in the ranks and the Vinokourov's improved showings in the grand tours in the last couple of years, I think the team may end up with conflicts about who to race for.

It's hard to see past Armstrong, for the reasons already mentioned. However, a lot has been made about his mental focus not being so strong this year, although this could just as easily be Lance himself playing the media game.

Anyway, I'll take Basso: his time-trialling has improved since last year and he was unlucky to have a bad couple of days at the Giro.

Let's be honest, when Beloki crashed in front of him, he was fortunate he didn't come off. I'm sure he'd admit it himself.

I remember one year Big Mig punctured going down a mountain doing about 50... If he'd punctured on a sharp bend he could've gone over the edge and bye bye Indurain.

You can prepare and plan for 99% of eventualities, but it's the 1% that makes life interesting.

come on Nigel, that rule only applies to TT's.

theres much more to RR's Wink Wink

Not stage races where you have a great team. They chase down breaks, he uses his power to weight ratio to break his rivals on the climbs.

I expect there may be a climber with a better power/weight ratio in the tour. If you take power/weight ratio only I could be up there in the Tour with a ratio of 7, what crap is that Wink

Yeah, but can you time trial?

Basso has raced hard in the Giro already, I expect him to start well, and then fade badly in the second half.

Floyd's chin is too long and Levi looks like Moby. So you're right. Very Happy

I think Lance will win, but struggle, I would love to see Vinokourov, but don't think he'll be consistant over 3 weeks.

Well if the others can at least push him it would liven it up. 2003 was great.

I think it all depends on Jan. If he goes as well as he did in 2003, without having any bad days (like he did at Alpe d'Huez that year), it could be very exciting. Razz

Normally I'd go for LA, but I have a feeling that Der Kaiser will get his 2nd win this year, with a team built around a GC challenge only. It will only take a minor slip from Discovery to let T-mobile in.

If his oponents attack him especially the mobiles working together then who knows but why should this year be different they seem to prefer 2nd place than a possible 1st

I just hope that if Discovery slip, then all the secret Discovery riders in Team CSC dont do what they did last year..

Mr Voigt.. you ride for the guys in red and black, ok?.

Come off it, Voigt was doing his job for Basso. Riis came up alongside him in the car and ordered him back to help!

The Posties didn't need his help.
