This event will be on a flat circuit starting near Scarrington - that’s south of the Trent in the Vale of Belvior for those of you who are geographically challenged. Riders can compete 1 circuit of 5 miles or two laps (10.6 miles). Everyone over the age of 12, including those who are not members of a cycling club, will be allowed to ride the distance of their choice. U16’s will be allowed to have an *CENSORED* ride behind them.
Funds raised by the event will be made available for Go-Ride activities. Entry fee will be a minimum donation of £2. Refreshments will be available so even if you don’t want to ride why not come out, be sociable and still help to raise funds.
COURSE DETAILS
Start in Longmoor Lane (between Scarrington & Orston), by the gate 0.3 miles from Speller Hill junction. Proceed to Speller Hill junction; turn left onto unclassified road towards Thoroton village (0.30 miles), straight through Thoroton, left at crossroads (sign posted to Flintham) (1.99). At next crossroads, turn left, through Hawksworth (2.61) next left onto Longmoor Lane (4.90) to finish by the Sycamore tree (5.00).
For those doing the Athelete’s ‘10’: Continue past the finish and proceed to the start point 5.6 miles. Repeat the above circuit to finish at the Sycamore tree on Longmoor Lane 10.6 miles. Athletes 10 means no Lo Pros, discs, aero helmets, tri bars, your time will be handicapped according to the sort of bike you are riding. So basically a road bike and if you've got mudgaurds so much the better! |
