Does anyone know that miserable fellow that generally rides around the Trent and Southwell area, who never acknowledges you when you ride towards him? Mostly wears an ONCE top.
As most cycling fanatics of the area will know, us Mansfield RC riders over the years have been widely praised for our friendliness and sporting good nature on the highways of the United Kingdom, and this sort of attitude makes my best chum (Fox) stop and weep at the side of the road. I then start to cry.

Is it a miserable tosspot on a carbon Giant.

Comes past me and Matt with his head down everytime. Mind you so do most Sherwood riders with a few exceptions.

couldnt agree more, this sad miserable sod has been crossing my path for at least two years, usually im heading back into lambley as he is heading out.not once has he said hello or nodded.
the mapperley club run now shout in unison to him as a Evil or Very Mad take, because they know they wont get a reply.they wave cheerily and shout hello matey nice to see you,and laugh their heads off.
so,hes not in the mapperley,or the sherwood,or a mansfield club, the guy has to be a sad loner!!!
who ever you are bloody cheer up and a very merry christmas to you!!

It must be either Jonny Boy or Lilo Lil then.

Except Jonny Boy doesn't ride at weekends and Lilo would be out on the clubrun. No one else in Sherwood has a carbon Giant road bike.

If it is Dave Gunton then he is a recent member of Sherwood.

I have known Dave for a few years, mostly before he was a cyclist when we were members of the same squash club/gym. Dave is a nice guy who had to stop playing squash due to joint damage and enjoyed cycling so decided to go out with the local club run. I had a chat earlier this year about group riding during a saturday parrot run. Afterwards he told me he had learned more in the last 5 mins than the last 3 months,as nobody had "took him under their wing". When he explained what he had been doing I told him that he would get called a F-ing Tw@, and he said "How do you know my cycling name?". I thought at the time how sad this was, and how a potential good cyclist could easily be turned away from the sport. No wonder he behaves in this way, if it is Dave.
