|
|
Here is a scenario.
You are a 1st Cat rider, great power to weight ratio, fit , already racing with oudles of time to train. Out riding your local bash you notice some of the lesser fit riders to the rear of the ride.
You power up a long drag putting everyone into a line out....
You drop back and in doing so let a gap appear (circa 15 meters) between to the front and rear groups.
The less fit riders have told you THREE times already that they just want to tag on the back and that they do not have the fitness to ride on the front - this early in the season.
Upon hearing this the 3rd time - you ride across from the rear group the to the front group dropping your mates at the furthest point of an out and back ride....
You decide.... _________________ Imagination is the war against reality.... |

Nah, you drop back and help the lesser riders by pushing them up the drag or dropping back and pacing them back on. _________________ When offered the choice between the path of Desire and the path of Virtue I chose the path marked Diversion.

By the time we get to May, he'll be pedalling squares and the other guys will enjoy wreaking revenge. As one of the old guys on Merseyside says, 'Early ripe, early rotten'. |

Absolutely. It has been scientifically proven that girlies can't pedal hard enough to make life tough on the chaingang.

Yes, I was quite concerned about all the people on £4000 race bikes who couldn't keep up with the pace after some people had already done 70miles on their £500 winter bike. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/MikeVaughanCyc

Did this happen before or after I turned back to find Tranta fixing a puncture by the side of the road? _________________ http://www.facebook.com/MikeVaughanCyc

What has he done wrong Rich? Sounds like some fatties at the back (And I can say that, because it was my dad at the back and there is no consequence from him.) who wouldn't bridge the gap so 'RIDER X' went and bridged it because he can which would have still left a gap.
Shouldn't be dropping back mind, if he can power up the hills he should stay on the front or doing through and off.
PS: I dropped 'Rider X' anyway, so he was subject of complete social humiliation. Now he has a thread. _________________ http://fusion-media.co.uk

I think Rider X's legs were hurting a bit, still, no-one else had done 3hrs previously.
It was quite amusing you dropping Rider X, it did appear he couldn't hold any power for some length of time. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/MikeVaughanCyc
