I sprinted my lungs out once and just heaved my front wheel in front of a bunch frantically diving into the ditches, switching onto the grass, braking hard, all in order to avoid that 1 point that 10th in a blank licence race gets.

Not timetrials - only proper races (requiring skill and tactics Wink) on the road or track

Won a points race at an Open Track Meeting in my second or third season..but I was 40 when I started racing on the track Shocked

How long in total? I rode for 7 years until Scunthorpe track was out of commission for a while. I haven't raced for a few years

I came 3rd in my first track race and 1st in my 2nd, won a very small handful since then including like KJ a points race Surprised but now after discovering MTBing it's all going downhill. Quite literally folks Razz

Won my first senior race in 1979 a 3/J, on a bike with a 57 single ring Embarassed It was a 2up sprint as well!

LOL, me and u both. I got points several years ago at Viccy Park but I'd actually packed.... Embarassed

Beyond that a couple of 1st junior prizes many moons ago, and I won 1st handicap in a 25 in 2004. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed
