You are probably right actually, they were usually that old they had melted and stuck to the wrapper so you had to eat that as well. And we were grateful for it !

Anyone ever work out how to get to the bottom of a Sherbet fountain without either eating the liquorice and getting the paper all soggy round the top so it blocked up or tipping it up to get the bits out and ending up covered in sherbet?

I'm sorry about mentioning your photo. I had no idea you were so sensitive about it. As Tranmere was pointing out in a far better way than I obviously did, the majority of Posters on VR take it quite light heartedly. The message is if you take yourself too seriously don't post on VR because they will see straight through you. And it seems to me you take yourself very seriously indeed. Please don't take this the wrong way however as VR needs all the posters it can get at the moment, what with all the suspensions and bans and what not going off all around us. Once again sorry for any misunderstanding, hope that's cleared it up. Embarassed

Look how many posters there are, then consider how many post regular and then how many have been banned or suspended? You make it sound like this forum is a graveyard. Confused

In fairness pNut in my opinion is nowhere near as funny a poster as he once was but does it really matter?

For crying out loud Lee, does EVERYTHING anyone say's have to be picked to bleedin death. It was a light hearted remark about bans made in the context of this topic O.K.? And another thing while I'm at it - when I was a kid you could get 8 of those chews for a penny. There were refreshers and milk chews as well IIR correctly. Any advance on that! Very Happy

Four sticks of liquorice for a penny or a farthing each. Very Happy
