Why bother? Had Cancellara been in Ballan's shoes, Hoste wouldn't have been able to hold on!!

Agreed. Gent Wevelgem is one thing, PR against this field is something else.

Hammond has already finished 3rd at Roubaix as you well know. He has to be in with a shout, surely?

I think there's a Gulf the size of Africa between a runner up and a winner at PR. As good as Roger is, I think he'd need all the luck in the world to beat the likes of Ballan and Cancellara with their form

After seeing Gent Wevelgem I can safely say that more or less anything could happen on Sunday! Cool

Its Paris - Roubaix; luck has a strange way of influencing this race Confused

I can see why you may all see why luck plays such a part especially after last year. However if you look at guys like Ballerini, Tchmil, Backstedt and even Cancellara last year, someone could have built a brick wall across the road and they would have still won.

Steegtmans didn't look in too much trouble sitting on his wheel on Sunday Confused

Mebbe Boonen has timed his form just right after a slow start to the year - didn't he crash early on Sun which affected him - if he's recovered he might be a bit fresher Rolling Eyes . Looked like he'd peaked too soon last year.

Pozatto is a pansy italian curly-haired nonce who is no way hard enough to win Paris Roubaix.
