Surely you should make more options available for the vote.

i.e.

Shimano, for function.
Shimano, for looks.
Both

Campag, for function.
Campag, for looks.
Both

If it was like that, I'd vote for Shimano's function and Campag's looks......well only the looks of the Record Carbon levers! Very Happy

Japcrap for the dirt and Campag for the road. As well as levers - rear mech cranks, brakes look better etc.

Zeus! or if I can't find that anywhere - Simplex gears, Williams chainsets, Airlite hubs, GB bars and stem, Brooks saddle, Bluemels mudguards and pump, Reynolds chain and block, Ron Kitching handlebar tape (white cloth) and Dunlop tyres. Please insert voting bozxes for these to make the poll accurate Shocked oops nearly forgot Lutz clothing and Pete Salisbury shoes.

Err...neither is 'the best by far'. They are both good and most people will swear allegance to one or the other, but neither is far better than the other is it? I prefer Shimano because I like the action of the STIs. Prefer Campag on my track bike though, it looks better.

Like you have any other choices! Hmm

Shifters: SRAM any others?
Cassettes: SRAM few others
Brakes: best options here, Hayes, Hope, Magura etc
Crank: Some here too, Race face etc.

Not many options really. Anyone have a NON Shimano MTB part on their offroad steed?

I vote Shimano Dura-ace for function, the rest is good but not really impressive. Campag for looks carbon record is ohso sweet. Nice thing about Campag is that the lower end groups work better than equivalent Shimano in my opinion.

In the 70s & 80s it was Campag, but now Shimano have got the edge.
