Shimano every time. Superior looks and availability. Campag alloy cranks look cheap there lever design sucks big style and there quick release is a shambles. And yes i have been unfortnate to have used Campag. was daytona 10speed. I didnt buy it though was testing it.
Lever design cant be great either if Robbie McEwen was in the comic saying they are screwing a nerve in his thumb because of the design....what groupset did he use before with Farm Frites then Lotto Adecco.......Shimano of course. |

I think campag is much better! As the saying goes 'Shimano wears out but Campagnolo wears in'. Says it all really...

We've covered this 'saying' only a few days ago - It means Campag doesn't work until it wears out - Shimano works brilliantly from new & lasts for ages... So - would you buy something that doesn't work correctly until you've nearly worn it out?

Campag cos of the nostagia, shimano didn't exist when I was a kid. Buying campag fulfills a childhood dream, but buying shimano is just buying stuff, so no choice really

gave this vote a bit of time and thought
and i also had campag on a carlton when i was a kid
lovely bit of kit...suprisingly came from halfords 70s
not riden any campag lately so can't knock them
got shimano and apart from the left sti unit not working
and supplier taking far to long to replace (d.h.)
im impressed with the way this groupset looks and feels.
really tough decision and shimano got my vote as i also
have their 6010 baitrunner reels and they are the dogs
p.s. not been fishing for a year as i got a different bug

No. It means Shimano's durability is questionable, and Campag's peak "silky smooth" performance is after a ride or two. |

I collect my mother in laws pension for her, I don't think i need to tell her about the winter fuel allowance, I can use it to up grade from my down tube levers at last, and campag are cheaper
seriously though, Mt mountainbike rapid fire lever fell apart and I lost half of the bits in the forest. Rather than spenf £30 o a new one I replaced with and old friction thumb shifter from a bike retrieved from a skip, it does the job and is lighter this country might adopt me yet.
