Only 6 its gone soft

It used to be 8 climbs, and 63 miles

Clawson east

pasture lane (brock hill)
Harby
terrace
Belvior

Margaret's cafe

retrace

Sub 3 hours was always a challenge then you blow up

Right then. I've been up the first hill as you go into Old Dolby from the Melton Road, I think it takes you to Wartnaby, what's that one called? Tu Turned left at the top to the crossroad with the A606 and went straight on.

Left down to Long Clawson, Hose, Harby and then carried on to Stathern and then up Stathern Hill.

61 zig zagging miles and I think I've only been up 2 of the climbs. Actually I must have gone over Broughton when I was riding out from Kinoulton andd Hickling. So how do I fit the others in, I need a better route or I'll end doing about 120miles.

5 pasture lane (brock hill)
6 Harby
7 stathern
8 terrace
9 Belvior

Dont broadcast it......but Ive heard that Margaret has started up again near Bottesford somewhere but by invitation only.
That means Norman goes but wont invite the rest of Melton Olympic.

Sadly I was lured into the same cafe last year in harrogate ....

Bettys Traditional Afternoon Tea
A pot of Tea Room Blend Tea;
finger sandwiches with a choice of two of the following fillings:
Smoked Salmon, Roast Ham, Roast Chicken
or Egg Mayonnaise; (thats or not and)
a Sultana Scone, strawberry preserve and Yorkshire clotted cream;
a selection of miniature cakes.
£14.95
each

thirty.bleedin.quid....and we had to queue up to get in with all the Japs & yanks.
Still Mrs Kingy was happy.... so was I after I had a pie

Sounds like the erstwhile Mrs Dogma and I got a veritable bargainous afternoon tea apiece at £5.50 a chuck!

Not strictly a cafe but Swinnerton - Cycles on Cannock Chase do some good home made rolls and flapjacks, few quid and you'll get that and tea or whatever.

A nice stop off after training on or off road at the chase.

Edit:thought I'd add this just to show not every place is a rip off! Wink
