|
|
I've seen a chaingang going past the end of my road on a sunday morning at about 10:30am and was wondering if anyone knows where they start from and run to? is it a local club or just a social run? is anyone welcome? what distance/speed? some of the guys were wearing Planet-X kit if this helps identify them. |

I've been on that a few times, no idea of route though, it's dark, hilly and hurts a lot is all I know, and then they do it backwards just to be perverse. |

from breaston out to borrowash turn right over the A52, then left up the hill turn left at top into spondon then right to locko park. Right at top then straight across at breadsall X roads. Left at the end and follow back of BMW gagrage onto Frank Whittle, straight ocross island up into Chadd' turn right thru the bronx to fire station turn left back to spondon then usual way from spondon back to Breaston. Not the best or safest route by a long way but for some reason it seems to have stuck. Make sure you have lights. _________________ sign up to our newsletter and enter the competition: www.ioptix.co.uk |

and the way out, the A52 out and back was much safer, and made for better quality 'chain ganging' as opposed to letting a tuesday and thursday racer try and nail everyone on the hills then moan when it goes to fast on the flat. Do you still get 80% of the riders not going through and off, yet still claiming they've been doing quality training on the chaingang? |

Nope, pretty steady ride a few efforts off the front but it kept together.
Good lights are needed though |

Totally agree with that. I was wondering if it would be possible to turn right at the island (just before Alvaston) onto the new link road, go right through to Raynesway then onto the A52 to Derby then to the Pektron island, back on the A52, Raynesway, new link road to the A6 at Alvaston and so on. The 'new' road is lit and 2 lanes, all flat so conducive for quality chainganging. |
