will Lance actually take up Simioni's challenge of riding both the giro and tour?
For some reason i think not, but do you think he should?
could certainly make for some interesting battles and results!

lets see on the one hand history beckons 6 tours the record ???? or risk that cos of some cheap shot taken by a rider who knows he can't possibly match armstrong in the tour ????? perhaps armstrong should challenge simoni to ride just the tour they could both aim to peak for it and of course it will be on neutral ground! I know who my money would be on!

I agree with Stretch - If Gibo wanted to challenge Lance, then he would have to concentrate on just the Tour. Lance will not pick up this glove - he's too focussed on the real job.

I think he should. It will move the giro up to another level. The media would have a feeding frenzy, and sponsors would be climbing over each other to get get their name on anything knowing that the worlds cameras will come to Italy for this battle.

The Americans would then know there is more than one bike race in Europe.

Good for the sport.

All this maybe true, but Lance has far too much to risk riding an earlier tour, now if the Giro was after the Tour, then maybe! Very Happy
But we know that isn't going to happen.
I would like to see Lance ride both, but I know it won't happen because the Tour has far greater importance to him personally, esecially when records are concerned.

This is purely my selfish opinion, I care about the sport, but little about LA's objectives. I also respect LA's selfish view which will be around his objectives and have nothing to do with the promotion of the sport.

Then there's the Olympic's only a few weeks after the Tour.
Lance and Jan will probably also target the Olympic's, but will Simioni?

Simioni? Just another loud mouthed Italian looking for publicity, yeah lets challenge Lance, they know DAMN well that he won't be riding both tours, as someone said earlier, 6 tours which NOONE has ever done or win the Giro and the Tour in the same year which many have done (however if he did both it would be pretty amazing!). Mad
